I am proud to announce that our research on the global burden of diarrhea and stunting caused by childhood ETEC and shigella infections in 79 low and low-middle income countries has been published in the latest issue of the Lancet Global Health! We applied a novel approach to capture the additional burden of other infectious diseases caused by stunting attributed to non-fatal ETEC and shigella diarrheal episodes during childhood. This method allows us to better understand the total burden of disease caused by these major enteric pathogens.
