New Research Published: Burden of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli and shigella non-fatal diarrhoeal infections in 79 low-income and lower middle-income countries: a modelling analysis

I am proud to announce that our research on the global burden of diarrhea and stunting caused by childhood ETEC and shigella infections in 79 low and low-middle income countries has been published in the latest issue of the Lancet Global Health! We applied a novel approach to capture the additional burden of other infectious diseases caused by stunting attributed to non-fatal ETEC and shigella diarrheal episodes during childhood. This method allows us to better understand the total burden of disease caused by these major enteric pathogens.

Special thanks to all of my colleagues for their contributions on this research over the past couple of years! Our publication is open source and free to download.

Seasonality, disease and behavior: Using multiple methods to explore socio-environmental health risks in the Mekong Delta

Seasonality, disease and behavior: Using multiple methods to explore socio-environmental health risks in the Mekong Delta

This research by Roger Few et al. explores the complexities of disease risk in Mekong delta households. Simplistic relationships between seasonality and disease risk are not sufficient to explain heterogeneity of behaviors and perceptions of risk held in these communities.
